“Today’s meeting as you know arises from the issues about the stickers, and as the IG has said, that has been resolved. The issue is settled and going forward, we have committed to work together and if there is any issue, we shall discuss it as NPS and IEBC,” Chebukati stated.

Chebukati said the police service is a major partner in the electoral process, maintaining that about 150,000 officers will be deployed to oversee the election.

The IEBC chair further urged Kenyans to turn up in large numbers to vote in the upcoming polls.

Chebukati said that the electoral agency had been notified of people buying identification cards from Kenyans adding that the matter had been forwarded to the IG.

"It has come to our attention that there are some people who are going around buying IDs from voters and that information we have passed over to the IG and action will be taken,” Chebukati said.
