Maureen Mung'ohe Musungu, who was missing for the last two weeks, was locked up in Athi River apartment of a male friend, the family has claimed.

The family announced on Friday that the Strathmore University student was found after she went missing on May 21.

According to Musungu's family, the student was found safely and underwent medical checkups to ascertain her state physically and mentally.

The 23-year-old Strathmore University student left their Karen home to meet up with friends at Nairobi City Centre.

Her mother, Morgan Ambani disclosed that Maureen left the house at around 10:30 am and was supposed to meet he friends in town, where they would proceed to their hangout location.
