  • CCTV footage obtained from Hafsa’s store showed her in the company of a woman at the store at 4:44 pm on Tuesday when she went missing.

Reports have emerged indicating that kidnappers are asking for Ksh5 million as a ransom for a 23-year-old businesswoman.

Hafsa Mohammed Lukman went missing on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, from her shoe shop in Kamukunji Trading Centre.

According to her brother-in-law Omar Ibrahim, the abductors texted the family on Wednesday, June 16 at 11:30 pm demanding ransom.

The family expressed their dismay adding that they are worried the abductors might harm Ms Mohammed.

A video of Hafsa blindfolded and asking her family to send money was shared on social media leaving the public angry at the actions of her abductors.

Her face was swollen and her eyes blindfolded in her hijab and fastened with tape around her head. A voice is also heard telling her to speak in a language that the abductors understand while they recorded her plea.

“I have been kidnapped, and they’re demanding ransom. Please, send it,” Hafsa said in Swahili.

The woman has been identified as Hafsa Abdulwahab who is a businesswoman in Kayole.

The two left the shop for Kayole and reports have also indicated that Ms Abdulwahab is also missing.
