Kisumu Boys High School students are counting losses after fire broke out in their dormitory and other buildings days after reporting for second term.

The institutions of learning had embarked on a short break as the country went into the General Election.

The schools reopened on Thursday, August 18, after the exercise whose climax ended with Deputy President William Ruto as the winner of the presidential vote.

However, for Kisumu Boys students, things started on a sad note after fire gutted down some of their infrastracture reducing their belongings to ashes.

Firefighters responded to the incident.

The learners were able to salvage some of the properties including beddings and learning materials as the firefighters got down to work.

Kisumu Central MP-elect Joshua Oron was also in the school with his team to help arrest the situation.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established.
