Amani National Coalition (ANC) Party Leader Musalia Mudavadi on Friday 25th June 2021 dismissed reports of talks between him, Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka on the revival of the National Super Alliance (NASA).

No such conversation, distortion of issues," Mudavadi wrote while responding to a headline on a Kenyan daily that claimed that the principals held talks on the revival of the coalition.

Mudavadi was the architect of NASA that brought together Kenya's biggest opposition parties in a single coalition ahead of the 2017 general elections.

The coalition represented the first time Kenya's opposition had united in a singular front since the 2002 Presidential elections when the National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) romped to power defeating KANU at the polls.

ANC joined up with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Wiper, FORD-Kenya and Chama Cha Mashinani to form NASA with Raila Odinga becoming the coalition's flagbearer.

The coalition did not secure the presidency and later collapsed after the March 2018 Handshake united President Uhuru Kenyatta and his erstwhile political foe Raila Odinga.

While speaking at the funeral of former Kibwezi MP on 17th June, Kitui Governor Charity  Ngilu amped the pressure on the NASA principals to reunite with focus on 2022.

Ngilu delivered a not-so-subtle warning telling the three that they could not beat Deputy President William Ruto if they faced him individually.
