The hotly contested Kiambaa constituency by-election has taken a nasty turn after a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) billboard near Village Market was pulled down.

The billboard features Deputy President William Ruto, People's Empowerment Party (PEP) Party Leader Moses Kuria and UDA's flagbearer in Kiambaa John Njuguna Wanjiku.
With the by-election set to be held on July 15th, 2021, campaigns have heated up with UDA aiming to usurp Jubilee. The seat was left vacant after the demise of Paul Koinange who passed away on 31st March 2021.

In an angry Facebook rant, Moses Kuria claimed that a billboard he had paid for was being pulled down after the landowner ordered its removal.
"She says she is a relative of President Uhuru Kenyatta and she cannot that billboard to be on her land," he wrote. "Should I vomit the Brookside milk I took for breakfast?" he added sarcastically.
Moses Kuria went on to add that business should be separated from politics as President Uhuru is a respector of private businesses.
The post attracted diverse reactions from Kenyans on social media.
"Respect other people's property," Mundu Ungi wrote "Where does the President come in?"
"Kiambaa Ni Hustler, what is now embedded in our hearts no one can rub," wrote Kennedy Muthemba. "Candidate ni NJUGUNA WANJIKU."
Others questioned whether Honourable Kuria had actually paid for the billboard.
"Weka receipts hapa....Grapevine says you did not pay the billboard in advance as earlier agreed," John Gitau wrote. "You are simply playing with UDA accounting team's psychology!"
Jubilee Party and UDA face each other in the July 15th by-election that could strike a hammer blow at the ruling party's attempts to reassert itself after several embarrassing losses in the region.
