ODM leader Raila Odinga has expressed optimism that the Court of Appeal will rule in favour of the appellants in the BBI appeal case which was heard last week.

Speaking during an interview on Thursday morning, Odinga noted that lawyers representing the appellants did a good job, adding that he is hopeful that BBI reggae will resume soon.

He, however, noted that if the court rules against them, they will respect the ruling even though they may not agree with it. He cited the 2013 presidential petition where the opposition respected the ruling against their petition, but did not agree with it.

Odinga, however, did not indicate whether the petitioners will move to the Supreme Court if the appeal is unsuccessful.

As to whether there is enough time to conduct a referendum considering that the General Election is set for August next year, Odinga noted that one year is more than enough.

Ata ikifika December bado tutafanya referendum,” he added.
