Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday declared that he will not stop making donations to churches.

Speaking at New Breed City Chapel in Kiambu County, DP Ruto noted that some people seemed to have an issue with how they worshipped.

The Deputy President mentioned that he looked forward to the day they will not only take thousands, nor millions but billions to churches.

"We are unashamed of our faith in God. Some people have a problem with how we worship, about how often we go to church, others have accused us of carrying money in sacks to the church but we will not stop," DP Ruto affirmed.

He added, "We are looking forward to the day when we will not be taking thousands, when we will not be taking millions but when we will be taking billions to church."

In the past, ODM leader Raila Odinga has questioned where a section of leaders get money to make church donations every weekend.

“Every weekend this church Sh 5million, that church Sh5 million, that other church-Sh5 million. Every weekend 15 million yet your monthly salary is only 1 million.

“Churches are being used as avenues for money laundering…They (the corrupt) come every weekend for harambees and people clap for them as they donate millions ati wameleta kwa ukarimu (that they have generously donated) yet no one questions where this money comes from, ” Odinga took a swipe at DP Ruto in April 2019.
