Cabinet Secretary for Tourism & Wildlife Najib Balala has stated that he won't be vying for any political seat in the upcoming 2022 general Election.
Responding to reports that appeared in a local daily on Tuesday, CS Balala noted that his focus was serving Kenyans as the CS for Tourism.
"For the avoidance of doubt, I want to categorically state that my focus is to continue to serve the country in my current position as cabinet secretary for Tourism and wildlife and that I have no plans to vie for any elective position anywhere in Kenya,'' part of the statement by CS Balala read.
A report appeared in a local daily on Tuesday claiming that half of President Uhuru Kenyatta's cabinet could resign by February 2022 as they eye political seat.
CS Balala was among those mentioned eyeing an elective position in next year's General Election.
