President Uhuru Kenyatta has promoted Major General Mohammed A. Badi to the rank of Lieutenant-General and remains the Director-General of Nairobi Metropolitan Service (NMS). 

President Uhuru Kenyatta has promoted Major General Mohammed A. Badi to the rank of Lieutenant-General and remains the Director-General of Nairobi Metropolitan Service (NMS). 

President Kenyatta appointed Major Badi to head NMS on 18th March 2020 after Nairobi County transferred some functions to the National Government.

I have tasked the Nairobi Metropolitan Services to bring an end to the corruption and dismantle the cartels that have slowed growth in the county,” Kenyatta said during the appointment.

In the statement issued by State House on Friday, the President also promoted Maj Gen Francis O Ogolla to the rank of Lieutenant General and appointed him the Vice Chief of the Defence Forces (VCDF).

"Lt Gen Francis O Ogolla replaces Lt Gen Franklin L Mghalu whose term of service has come to an end after 40 years of service. He had previously served as the VCDF and as the Commander Kenya Navy.

Until his appointment as VCDF Lt Gen Francis Ogolla was the Commander Kenya Air Force," part of the statement read. 

The President has also promoted and appointed Brigadier John M Omenda to the rank of Major General and appointed him Commander Kenya Air Force.
