  • According to Moses Kuria, the NASA coalition partner has shown a lot of disrespect to Raila, yet he is the main man in the outfit.

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has lauded ODM and its leader Raila Odinga for officially ditching the National Super Alliance Coalition (NASA).

In a statement, Kuria claimed that the decision to part way with NASA is the best Raila has ever made, arguing that he’s been baring a heavy load dealing with his ex-coalition partners.

According to Kuria, the other NASA coalition partners were relevant because of Raila, but they occasionally disrespected him. For this reason, he believes the divorce should have come way earlier.

The best decision my friend Baba has ever made is to get out of NASA. You carry people on your back. They ride on your votes, your energy, your money. They scratch your neck. They pee on your back. And they go all over town saying they should be the Presidential Candidate because you are unelectable. What took you so long Baba?” he posted.

On Thursday, ODM held a National Executive Council meeting where it was resolved that the party officially exits the NASA coalition.

Confirming the exit, Raila tweeted," The ODM Party NEC has resolved that the party formally exit the NASA Coalition. We shall now embark on a new, inclusive and futuristic political trajectory. I’m impressed by the team's enthusiasm in promoting our party’s social justice agenda."

The Orange party is now actively seeking partnerships with other interested political parties.

ODM’s decision to exit NASA comes two days after Wiper Democratic Movement made a similar announcement.

Musalia Mudavadi's Amani National Coalition had earlier expressed interest in leaving the NASA coalition but has not made the move official.

ANC and Wiper are two of the four constituent parties that make up the One Kenya Alliance which also features KANU and Ford Kenya.
