Deputy President William Ruto was on Monday evening blocked from making a private visit to Uganda. 

According to his communication team, DP Ruto was asked to seek clearance from the Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua.

DP Ruto's communication secretary David Mugonyi was quoted by a local daily saying that they were surprised by the turn of events since the incident had never happened before. 

According to Dennis Itumbi, an associate of DP Ruto, his entourage which included Ndindi Nyoro and Benjamin Tayari among others were allowed to leave. 

After the reports emerged, DP Ruto tweeted stating" Isorait....tumwachie MUNGU." 

A section of DP Ruto allies has reacted furiously after the report emerged led by Senator Kipchumpa Murkomen and Aden Duale. 

On the other hand, political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi claimed Uganda was a 'diversion'.
