Sapit stated that no politician would be allowed to address the congregation henceforth.

A section of politicians walked out of a church function on Sunday, September 12, 2021, after the Archbishop of Anglican Church of Kenya Jackson Ole Sapit banned political utterances in the Anglican pulpit.

Addressing the congregation during the consecration of Rev. Rose Okeno as the Bishop of the Butere Diocese, Sapit stated that no politician would be allowed to address the congregation henceforth.

"From today onwards, I have banned politicians from speaking inside the Anglican Church. Even if you (the media) put your cameras there, they will not speak," Sapit declared.
