Presidential hopeful and businessman Jimi Wanjigi has said that he is confident he will be in the ballot in 2022.

Wanjigi in a tweet said that he will be the one flying the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) flag in the next general elections.

He went on to say that despite the attack in Migori, in leadership one has to remain firm and focused on what they want to achieve.

“One of the greatest skills of leadership is being unshakeable in your resolve. I am confident that I’ll be on the Ballot come 2022 flying the ODM flag high. The time for a new Kenya has come,” said Wanjigi.

His words come hours after rowdy youth in Migori town pelted stones at his convoy as he addressed area residents on his plan, as the ODM presidential ticket contender.

The act forced him to cut his speech short and leave the town.

While addressing the media, the presidential hopeful said the attack was unfortunate, and that everyone must be allowed to share their opinions and ideology regardless of where they come from.

“You may not like my message but you must defend my right to say it…I will not be cowed. We will be in Siaya County tomorrow (Saturday) and Kisumu on Sunday and later return to Migori. We will keep moving on. Democracy is for all of us and not for some of us,” said Wanjigi.

He added that he’ll not be intimidated by the attack and will proceed with his tour of the Nyanza region as scheduled.

Wanjigi has been calling for fresh blood at the ODM leadership, insisting that Raila Odinga is a second liberation hero and cannot be a third liberation hero.
