Ministry of Health announced 1,018 new Covid-19 cases, 16 Deaths

The Ministry of Health announced 1,018 new Covid-19 cases out of a sample size of 6,649. 

In a statement sent to newsrooms on Wednesday, October 28, 16 people were reported to have succumbed to the disease.

Kenya now has 51,851 total confirmed cases with cumulative tests standing at 672,771.

From the 1,018 cases recorded today, 989 are Kenyans and 29 are foreigners. 657 are males while 361 are females.

The youngest case today is a nine-month-old infant and the oldest is 96 years.

426 patients were discharged, 312 from the home-based care program and 114 from the hospital around the country bringing the total number of recoveries to 35,258.

1060 patients admitted in various health facilities countrywide while 4,230 are on Home Based Isolation and Care.

36 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 18 of whom are on ventilatory support and 14 on supplementary oxygen.

45 patients are on supplementary oxygen, 22 of whom are in general wards and 23 are in High Dependency Unit (HDU).
