Unity of the nation was at the center of talks, as the leaders called for members of the public to support Odinga's presidency.


ODM Leader Raila Odinga today, September 28, 2021, attended a forum organised by the Mount Kenya Foundation at the Safari Park hotel, Nairobi.

The former premier has in the recent days made an effort to popularise his political and economic agendas for the country in the Mt Kenya region.

Yesterday, Odinga concluded a three-day tour of parts of Central Kenya where he held a consultative meeting with four governors from the region.

During the forum, Odinga held a meeting with billionaire businessman and equity founder Peter Munga.

Also present were other members of the Mt Kenya Foundation leaders; Royal Media Services (RMS) owner S.K Macharia, Mastermind Tobacco owner Wilfred Murungi, former KRA boss Michael Waweru, coordinator Mutuma Nkanata, and Lapsset Board chairman Titus Ibui.

The event was also attended by various leaders from Mt Kenya, Governors, senators, church leaders and among other ODM leaders.

Some of the leaders present included; Senator James Orengo, Senator Sam Ongeri, Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, among others.

The leaders recounted the role Jaramogi Odinga Odinga played in Kenya's independence and in the freedom of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.

They reiterated tribal and cultural differences did not liberate Kenya then, and neither will they propel the country forward now.

The function featured performances by popular Agikuyu benga musicians including Jose Gatutura, among others.

Traditional folk song dancers also entertained the esteemed guests at the event.
