Wamuchomba has since stated that her ouster was as a result of her support for Deputy President William Ruto.

Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchomba has been kicked out as the vice-chairperson of the Transport Committee in the National Assembly in recent changes enacted by the Jubilee Party.

Majority Whip Emmanuel Wangwe informed parliament that the Kiambu lawmaker has been moved to the Agriculture Committee but as an ordinary member.

Wamuchomba has since stated that her ouster was a result of her support for Deputy President William Ruto.

The Kiambu Woman Rep recently decamped to Hustler Nation and has since declared support for DP Ruto's presidential bid.

“I was a victim for supporting William Ruto. Anybody who supports the DP is ejected from leadership committees. I’m therefore a victim,” she told Nation.

The lawmaker further alleged that she was kicked out by Jubilee for calling out lazy contractors who take a long time to complete road projects.

Wamuchomba was appointed vice-chair of the Transport Committee in 2020 following changes made by President Uhuru Kenyatta. At the time, lawmakers allied to DP Ruto were kicked out of key committee roles.

In the new changes Kirinyaga Central Member of Parliament John Munene, was moved from Justice and Legal Affairs Committee to Administration and National Security.

Keiyo South MP Daniel Rono, an ally of DP Ruto, was moved to the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee while Malava MP Moses Malulu Injendi has been moved from Regional Integration to Transport.

Another ally of the deputy president in Embakasi Central MP Benjamin Gathiru Mwangi, was moved from National Cohesion and Equal Opportunities to Regional Integration.

Newly elected MPs George Koimburi and John Wanjiku (Kiambaa) were assigned to National Cohesion and Implementation Committee respectively.
