Eddie was the CEO at Wapi Pay while Paul Ndichu was the Executive Director.

Wapi Pay co-founders Paul Ndichu and Eddie Ndichu have stepped aside from the company. 

In a statement issued on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, the cofounders will step aside to allow investigations into the assault incident captured on camera.

The two brothers are accused of assaulting two women at Ole Sereni Hotel. 

"The board of directors of Wapi pay would like to announce that the company co-founders, Eddie Ndichu, who is the current chief executive officer, and Paul Ndichu, the current Executive Director will step aside with immediate effect to allow investigations to take their course. 

"The board commits to conclude on this matter within the next 30 working days. Elizabeth Kariuki, the current chief operating officer, will take up the Chief Executive Officer role on an interim basis," part of the statement read.

In a statement issued earlier by Wapi Pay, the two brothers disputed the allegations of assault.

"Our understanding is that the allegations and video currently being shared on social media, albeit horrific and regrettable, do not depict the true events that transpired that night.

"To be clear, Paul and Eddie got involved in an attempt to neutralize a confrontation between two women and to defend themselves from certain aggressors," the statement read in part.
