A family in Kericho has been thrown in disarray after their 2-week old baby was reportedly stolen from her mum in Eldoret town.

The baby was allegedly snatched from the mother at Wareng Matatu stage as she was waiting to board a matatu to Kericho.

According to the mother, a woman dressed in a buibui snatched the baby from her and escaped using a bodaboda.

The matter has since been reported to the Eldoret Central Police station and investigations launched.

Meanwhile, the family has appealed to anyone with information that could help lead to their baby to contact the police or Missing Child Kenya.

“We appeal to the public, if anyone witnessed or has any information with regards to this case, Please Call Missing Child Kenya on toll free number 0800-22-33-34 or report to the nearest police station,” the statement read in part.
