Police are seeking the whereabouts of a man who assaulted a musician in Bungoma over his alleged support of Deputy President William Ruto.

Bungoma East police boss Valarian Obore said police are looking for Bernard Wakamala, alias Jaramogi, for clobbering David Sakari.

According to law enforcement officers Mr Sakari performs in Webuye Juakali band troupe led by Kimilili MCA David Barasa.

"He took a beer bottle and hit me on the head twice. I bled profusely before friends took me to Webuye Sub County Hospital, where I was treated and discharged," Sakari stated.

The performer is remembered for having been awarded a customised vehicle for the disabled by Dr Ruto in 2016.

Sakari received the Toyota Vitz after impressing the Deputy President during his visit in Webuye.

The performer who is a person living with dwarfism, then said it is difficult for him to drive himself owing to his short stature.

He asked the Deputy President to also assist him to modify the car by fitting it with gadgets to enable him to drive the car.

“I will appreciate it if this vehicle will be automated so that when I am not performing, I can also use it as a taxi in Webuye town,” Sakari said.
