Deputy President William Ruto on Tuesday visited the Jubilee Party Headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi months after his last visit.

In a tweet, the DP noted that he visited the Pangani office to handle party matters, but did not give information on the specific issues he addressed.

During the visit, he was accompanied by Lang’ata Member of Parliament Nixon Korir.

From the photos shared on his official Twitter handle, the DP met and interacted with staff from the party headquarters.

“At  @JubileePartyK Headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi County, for party matters… Jubilee is a national party that is founded on the principles of inclusion, cohesion and transformation of our country. Our politics is driven by ideas that are people-centred,” he tweeted.

Tuju, Murathe nowhere to be seen

From the photos shared online, it was notable that top officials at the party including the Secretary General Raphael Tuju and Vice-chair David Murathe were a no show.

Murathe is a critic of the Deputy President and has on several occasions poked fingers at Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.

“I don’t think he is the right person to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta. And because of the way he has behaved when he is Deputy President. I shudder to think how he will behave when he is President,” Murathe said during a recent interview with Citizen TV.

On his Part, Tuju sarcastically tweeted stating that “Your visit is always a pleasure boss. KARIBU TENA!!!”
