Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu has revisited a viral video of him from four years ago, where he said ODM Leader Raila Odinga cannot be trusted with the presidency.

In the video, Ngunjiri launched a scathing attack on Odinga, noting that he was a man not to be trusted with the presidency.

However, four years later, the tides have shifted and Odinga is now working with president Kenyatta, who Ngunjiri supports.

Explaining what now appears to be his change of heart, Ngunjiri noted that a lot has changed over the past four years.

According to Ngunjiri, when he made the remarks, Odinga was a harsh critic of the President, however, the two made peace are now speaking in one voice.

“I want to appreciate TangaTanga for directing their esteemed researchers to dig clips in which I am saying good things about their candidate - despite the fact that these clips are actually over 5 years old. I shall not call it an act of desperation. No. I chose to see it as an honor, and appreciate it. But this clip tells you how things can change!

“Today Raila Odinga - the man we loved to hate as Mt Kenya - is operating as a genuine real-life Statesman, and has become a chief confidant of Uhuru Kenyatta,” his statement read in part.

Additionally, Ngunjiri noted that back then, Ruto was a close ally and confidant of President Kenyatta, but now he is a top critic of the government, thus the decision to campaign against him.

“On the other hand William Ruto - a man we loved, and who used to be Uhuru Kenyatta’s right hand and chief confidant, and who we expected would automatically take over after Uhuru - has transformed himself into a genuine and complete anarchist, against Uhuru Kenyatta and his government; while still in office and serving as Uhuru Kenyatta’s principal assistant!” he added.
