Amani National Congress (ANC) Party Leader Musalia Mudavadi on Monday, September 21, 2020 turned 60 years. His friends, family and Kenyans at large sent him goodwill wishes as he starts a new year in his life.

Following the massive goodwill messages, Mudavadi put out three videos thanking his fans for their support.

The three videos were targeted at different audiences judging by the language used. The first video was in English meant for the elite, the second one was in Swahili meant to the common mwananchi and the last one was in Sheng meant for the youth.

In the sheng video, he uses phrases like ‘Mbogi’ which is common in day to day conversations of youth people and also in the music industry especially the gengetone genre.

Tweeps Troll Mudavadi

Reacting to Mudavadi’s video, a section of netizens felt that he was playing PR with an aim of getting young people to back him and his political ambitions.

Popular blogger Robert Alai was among tweeps who faulted the ANC leader for doing a video in Sheng.

“Whoever tells these people to desperately speak the language they can't relate with for likes is simply deceiving them. Sad that someone thinks that him doing this is impactful,” Alai posted.

Several other tweeps reacted to the video shared by Mudavadi and Alai. Here are some of the reactions from netizens:
