Ringera pointed that the games will be suspended for two weeks, taking immediate effect on Friday, November 12, to ensure regularisation across the country.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) caretaker chairperson Aaron Ringera has suspended all national leagues in the country for two weeks.

In the statement issued on Friday, November 2, the decision is to meant to ensure the regularisation of league activities across the country.

"Following a meeting of the Football Kenya Federation Caretaker Committee [on Friday morning], it has been unanimously decided to suspend the FKF Premier League, the National Super League, FKF Division One, FKF Women's Premier League, FKF Women's Division 1 League for a period of two weeks starting today, November 12, 2021.

"The decision has been reached to ensure regularisation of the league activities across the country. The Committee will be engaging with clubs and other football stakeholders in due course," part of the statement read.

The directive came after the FKF caretaker committee held a morning meeting following Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed appointing them to take over on Thursday, November 11.

CS Amina sacked Nick Mwendwa with FKF administration after receiving an audit report from Sports Registrar Rose Wasike.

The move did not sit well with the International Federation of Association Football(FIFA). They issued a cautionary letter to the Kenyan Government to stop interfering with FKF internal affairs.

“We consider that the aforementioned decision by the Cabinet Secretary to appoint an FKF Caretaker Committee instead of the elected FKF Executive Committee is undoubtedly contrary to the above principles.

“Should this be considered as undue government interference in the internal affairs of the FKF, it could lead to a ban imposed on the FKF by the competent FIFA body,” the letter read in part.
