Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi has announced that going forward, he will not appear in court for any person that opposes Deputy President William Ruto or his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party.

Speaking on Monday night a few hours after officially joining UDA, Havi noted that he is now Ruto’s general and will do his best to protect and defend the DP.

He said as a Ruto ally, he will not work with those opposed to him, adding that there are so many other lawyers who can represent those people in court.

“I cannot represent them. There are many lawyers out there who can represent anyone who has problems with the DP or UDA. I am a UDA member, a Ruto’s general,” he said during an interview with NTV.

Havi’s statement on not representing persons opposed to the DP and UDA, appears to contradict his earlier position where he said as a lawyer, it is his duty to represent anyone seeking legal representation.

During an interview with Radio Citizen on Monday, Havi while defending his decision to appear for ousted FKF President Nick Mwendwa said as an attorney, his work is to defend any one including lucifer and the devil if they are unveiled in court.
