KBC Unveils Famed Identical Twins As Badi Muhsin Replacement

Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) has replaced the late veteran journalist Badi Muhsin with identical twins sisters.

Badi died on October 8, 2021, after a short illness.

A teaser of the two siblings Jamila and Wanjiru Mbugua has been released by the national broadcaster indicating that they will soon be anchoring news together.

Sources privy to the arrangement told Nairobi Leo that the two will take over the "Dira Ya Magwiji" news bulletin that was hosted by Badi.

This is the first time the two will be hosting a news bulletin together despite their previous assignments being in the media industry.

Jamila worked with NTV where she hosted The Property Show. Before joining Nation Media Group, she worked at K24 TV in 2015 where she hosted Faraja Show.

Wanjiru is joining KBC for a second time after gracing its screens between 2006 and 2008 as a business anchor. She later joined Diamond Media where she worked as a Communications and Marketing consultant.

The two are set to become the first siblings to host a news bulletin together.

There is no doubt that theirs is an interesting adventure that many Kenyans will look forward to seeing how they will strike the much-needed chemistry while presenting news.

KBC in June 2021 revamped its operations and brought onboard veteran celebrated journalists who left indelible marks in the hearts of many Kenyans during their heydays as a news anchors.

Among those who were granted a comeback include Tom Mboya, Catherine Kasavuli, Pauline Sheguh, Cynthia Nyamai, and Fayaz Kureish.

Former Nation Media journalist Harith Salim and K24 TV's Ahmed Bhalo, who were retrenched during the Covid-19 period, were also hired during the re-launch period.
