Former Governor Mike Sonko has been gagged by a court order from publishing more leaks on judiciary dubbed 'Rot in Judiciary'.

Sonko, on Monday, November 22, was barred with a restraining order from any further publications of information against Judge Said Juma Chitembwe and Lawyer Cecil Miller by the Chief Magistrates Court.

Amana Said Jirani, alleged brother to Justice Chitembwe, was also issued with the same orders by the court following his involvement with Sonko on the defamatory allegations.

However, Sonko and his lawyers did not attend the court proceedings. But Sonko stated that he was notified of the order through his security personnel.

"It is hereby ordered that the matter is certified as urgent. That pending hearing inter parties the defendants are hereby restrained from publishing further statements/articles forthwith as regards the plaintiffs/applicants.

"That given the nature of the publication and the public interest in the matter this application is to be heard urgently and on-priority basis," the statement read in part.

The case will be heard on November 26 at 9:00 am(EAT) before the Chief Magistrate. The order comes days after Chief Justice Martha Koome remarked to have seen the leaks.

"The Judicial Service Commission will meet to deliberate on the issue according to its constitution and statutory set procedures.

"The removal of a judge may be initiated only by the Judicial Service Commission acting on its own motion, or on the petition of any person to the Judicial Service Commission," Koome stated.
