The Head of State said students currently in schools- Grade Four, Class 8 and Form 4 will remain in their learning institutions as planned.

Additionally, the President noted that all schools will be reopened in January 2021 and urged Members of Parliament to prepare in advance.

"Face to face learning to resume in January. Those who have already resumed continuing with their studies," the President said.

Education CS George Magoha had earlier argued that the children are better in schools hinting on possibility of earlier reopening amid a surge in the number of Covid-19 cases.

Although learning institutions have been affected by Covid-19 the CS called for calm noting that the ministry was handling the breakout of Covid-19 and students are being isolated.
