Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni said they were working with Opposition leaders since they have common agenda of promoting peace and uniting the country.

Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni has dismissed allegations that there are plans to dissolve the Jubilee Party ahead of the 2022 general election.

Politicians allied to Tangatanga's faction of Jubilee have been claiming their counterparts in Kieleweke were on their way out of the governing party to ODM which is led by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

This is after Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju and party Vice Chairman David Murathe formed a technical committee to formulate a pre-election agreement with ODM.

In a tweet on Monday, Kioni, who is a fierce defender of President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration, stated there are no plans to wind up Jubilee or move to Raila's party.

The second-time legislator said they were working with Opposition leaders since they have common agenda of promoting peace and uniting the country.

"Jubilee leaders are not leaving Jubilee to join ODM or merge with ODM. We are focused on working with leaders that want to move the country forward peacefully. We want leaders that are like minded and peaceful," Kioni tweeted.

Earlier on the MP was at Kameme TV where he revealed Uhuru and other Kieleweke leaders were backing Raila's presidential bid because they were convinced he will secure Jubilee's legacy once elected.

"We want to leave the country to a person we are sure he will finish the roads, hospitals, houses, and other development projects when the President retires next year," Kioni said.
