Immigration Department: Directorate of Immigration Services @ImmigrationDept has cancelled current appointments for submission of passport applications and biometrics enrolment. This is in line with Government directive to scale down operations in order to curb the spread of COVID-19. 

The Kenya Immigration department has announced cancelling of current passport applications appointments following a surge in the corona cases in the country.

In a statement posted on its Twitter handle, the Immigration department noted that the move was in line with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive to scale down operations in government offices.

Following the cancellation, the Immigration department noted that anyone with urgent case should contact the Directorate and provide documentary evidence.

All those who had booked appointments with the agency have been advised to book a fresh from Monday next week.


Here is the statement from the Immigration department:

“Directorate of Immigration Services @ImmigrationDept has cancelled current appointments for submission of passport applications and biometrics enrolment. This is in line with Government directive to scale down operations in order to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Passport applicants are requested to book afresh new submission dates convenient to them effective Monday, November 9th, 2020.

Those with emergency travel needs such as Medical emergency, Scholarships, Employment abroad, or Government assignments, they should contact the Directorate through our Hotline 0110 922065 during official working hours.

Applicants with urgent need to travel will be required to provide documentary evidence,” the Immigration department’s statement read in part.
