According to reports, over ten people are feared to be trapped in the debris.

A four-story building that was under construction has collapsed at the Makeji area in Gatanga, Murang’a County.

According to reports, over ten people are feared trapped in the debris which is in Sunstar Hotel along old Muranga -Nairobi road.

Rescue Operations has been deployed to try to save the trapped persons believed to be working when it collapsed.

 According to Murang’a County Police Commander Donatha Kiplangat the multi-agency team was dispatched minutes the building came tumbling down at 2pm.

The rescue team included the Police, Medics, and Fire brigadiers drawn from Murang'a and the Neighboring Kiambu County.

So far, according to reports, Six casualties have been rescued from the rubble and rushed to Thika Level 5 Hospital.

Commander Kiplangat has confirmed that 43 out of 51  occupants near the structure  have been accounted for.
