Education CS George Magoha has issued a stern warning to unruly students in a new directive to headteachers ahead of KCPE and KCSE examinations.

Speaking in Mombasa county after inspections of classrooms on Monday, December 27, he noted that it was far better to have a few unruly students leave school and rest with their parents to carry out their examinations at home.

Furthermore, it was rather ridiculous for a child to burn the school to make the rest suffer, imploring they were extra vigilant.

"I would like you to note that as the media and everyone focuses on 0.1 percent of schools and learners who are renegade and do bad things, we tend to forget about the majority of teachers and students who are very happy to continue with their learning," the CS stated.

"As we start the new year, my instructions to headteachers is that among the renegade children who want to go home to rest, we shall allow them. If there is a child who doesn't want to go to school and wants to go and rest with his parents, to take exams from home, let him go, rather than destroy the infrastructure."

According to Magoha, the ministry had disbursed money for the third term come January 2022, with students in dire need of school fees catered for.

His directive came about following the increase in arson attacks witnessed in Secondary schools across the country.
