Prof Makau stated it is against human rights to discriminate based on sexuality.

Kenyan-American professor at the SUNY Buffalo School of Law Prof Makau Mutua has told off Education CS George Magoha for barring homosexual students from schools.

In a statement on his Twitter handle on Friday, December 31, Mutua stated it is against human rights to discriminate based on sexuality.

"CS Magoha is a bigot and a Neanderthal. To bar gay children from boarding schools is unconstitutional, discriminatory, and inhuman," he stated.

Mutua, who is also the Kenya Human Rights Commission chair, added that the Kenyan society should be ready to accommodate people with different sexual orientations.

He stated that the reality on the ground is that homosexuality exists in our African society and it is not wrong.

"Being gay is as natural and African as being asexual, heterosexual, pansexual, and bisexual. We must love ALL our kids no matter their sexualities," he added.

CS Magoha has been against homosexuality saying it's against African culture and traditions.

The Education CS directed that those who are homosexuals in boarding institutions should be taken to day schools so that they don't erode the morals of other learners who don't subscribe to homosexuality.
