The image has been shared widely by bloggers, some media houses and supporters of the UDA party as that of DP Ruto's Eldoret mega rally.

An image has emerged on social media showing a huge crowd of people at a rally with a section of people and media houses claiming that it is that of Deputy President William Ruto's mega rally in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.

However, Nairobi Leo Fact Check Desk has established that the image is not that of the DP's Eldoret rally.

According to our research, the image was taken in 2015 in Tanzania during the late President John Pombe Magufuli's final campaign rally for the presidency.

The image is that of supporters of Tanzania's ruling CCM party attending Magufuli's huge rally on Friday, October 23, 2015, ahead of elections that were held on Sunday, October 25, 2015.

The image was taken by AFP, a French state-owned international news agency headquartered in Paris, France.
