  • Sarah Wairimu claims people who killed her husband are known and well protected
  • Gives court reasons why she believes she was set up

The wife to tycoon Tob Cohen, Sarah Wairimu made damning claims in court about the murder of the businessman.

Wairimu claimed that the Dutch businessman was murdered and dumped in a septic tank at their home while she was in custody.

She further claimed that Cohen was murdered by people who are well known but enjoying the protection of officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

“My husband was murdered by people who wanted to grab our Sh500 million matrimonial home in Kitisuru.

"They had me arrested on August 28, 2020, then colluded with investigators to implicate me after planting his body in a septic tank while I was in custody,” Mr Wairimu said.

She also contested Cohen’s Will, which denied her the opportunity to inherit his multi-million shilling estate.

Contested will

“The purported Will that did not leave her anything was fraudulently procured. It was done by powerful forces who want to grab her matrimonial home.

"It is so unfortunate that she is being depicted as a stranger in her own home,” her lawyer Philip Murgor told the court.

In his will, Cohen had bequeathed 50 per cent of the matrimonial home to his sister Gabrielle Straten and the remaining half to her two children.

He also bequeathed Ksh100 million cash in his bank account to his sister, Ksh50 million to his brother Bernard Cohen and the family business to his sister.
