The victim, 38-year-old Mary Njeri Kamau went missing on December 31, 2021 after leaving her house. 

A 25-year-old university student has been arrested after a mutilated and decomposing body of a middle-aged woman was found inside his house in Molo, Nakuru County. 

Citizen Digital reported that Mark Njoroge Wanjiku, a third-year student at Kibabii University was arrested and later arraigned after failing to explain why the body was found in his house. 

The victim, 38-year-old Mary Njeri Kamau went missing on December 31, 2021, after leaving her house. 

Molo Resident Magistrate Rhoda Yator granted investigators 14 days to hold the suspect as they conclude the probe.

The case will be mentioned on January 24.

This comes a day after a murder suspect was arrested in Maai Mahiu, Nakuru County after turning up at the crime scene hours after the alleged killing. 

The suspect is accused of killing a boda boda operator following a brief altercation between them after failing to pay the rider on arrival at his destination. 

According to police reports, the suspect hit the boda boda operator several times on the head with a stone, killing him on the spot. 

He then rode the motorcycle and hid it near his compound shortly before turning at the incident scene mourning the departed rider. 

However, the officer noted that villagers noticed blood splatter on his clothes and upon questioning him, he ran away before police officers caught him an hour later.
