Three areas still facing outages but the company has promised to restore electricity in due course.

Kenya Power has restored power across the country.

However, three areas remain facing outages but the company has promised to restore electricity in due course.

"The power supply has now been restored to all parts of the country except Garissa, Mwingi and Kitui which are expected to be back by 6 pm," KPLC said.

The Country was on Tuesday morning plunged into blackout after a tragedy hit one of the power transmission lines.

"We have lost power supply due to collapsed towers on the Kiambere-Embakasi highs voltage transmission power line at 10:45 am this morning," the company said.

Kenya power responded swiftly and addressed the issue that saw some areas like Nairobi and parts of Western Kenya back to light.

Despite the announcement by KPLC, residents of some areas such as Rongai in Kajiado are lamenting that there is still an outage.

The power outage was also experienced on Monday with Kenya power not giving the exact reasons for the blackouts.

Kenya Power is the country's sole electricity distributor, and the bulk of its power comes from Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen).
