Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) boss Francis Atwoli has said that anyone from the Luhya community following Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi will be lost.

Speaking on Saturday, Atwoli said that he gave Mudavadi the chance to leader the community in 2016, and he never held even a single rally to date.

"Your problem is indecisiveness. I gave Musalia Mudavadi the chance to be our leader and spokesman from 2016 to date he has not held even one single rally. Even the one I organized on December 31st, he didn’t come to speak to the people. I want to tell you, don’t follow him because anyone who follows him will get lost," he said.

The COTU Secretary General also called out the former Vice President for snubbing a lunch meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta and Members of Parliament at State House last week.

Atwoli also scolded Mudavadi for skipping the OKA retreat last week where they were meant to discuss who would lead the outfit going into the August 9th General Elections.

He added that his co-principals at the alliance cannot carry the leadership of the group and take it to him in his house.

"The other day his friends invited him (Mudavadi) for lunch with MPs and he didn’t go. His friends Kalonzo, Wetangula and Gideon Moi called him for a retreat to choose who will lead them as One Kenya Alliance but he remained at home. Should they carry leadership and take it to him in his house?," said Atwoli.

Mudavadi was conspicuously missing at the OKA retreat on Friday where the alliance's co-principals met in Naivasha to discuss the way forward.

This comes in the wake of reports that the alliance could be headed for a split.

Both Mudavadi and Kalonzo insist that they must be in the ballot in this year's elections.
