Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has reignited his feud with Deputy President William Ruto over the BBI report.
Speaking on Thursday, Mutua blasted Ruto, terming him a habitual opposer.
This is after Ruto expressed his reservations regarding the report. According to Ruto, the report should not be used as a tool to push selfish interest in Kenyans.
However, Mutua views Ruto’s opposition as expected, considering that he has been on different sides in the past constitutional changes.
“William Ruto has been campaigning to be president from the word go...He was opposed to the 2005 referendum, he opposed 2010 constitution, he’s opposed to this one (BBI)…we’re used to it…he’s a habitual opposer,” said Mutua.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap leader noted that Kenyans should look at the BBI document in line with the benefits it brings to the table.
“The priority is jumpstarting the economy because at the end of the day, it’s all about money. The BBI is very important, DP William Ruto has, from the very beginning, been opposed to it,” he added.
In 2005, Ruto was with ODM leader Raila Odinga when they successfully led the opposition to the new proposed constitution.
However, in 2010, Ruto attempts to oppose the constitution failed as it was approved by most Kenyans.
During the period, Raila was serving as the Prime Minister in the grand coalition government. He was among the key supporters of the document.
With BBI report Ruto has maintained Raila is using the initiative to ascend to power after failing in the past four presidential bid.
The BBI report now offers another perfect ground for Mutua and Ruto to flex their political prowess ahead of the 2022 polls.
In the past, Mutua has accused Ruto of making an attempt on his life for opposing him.
Both leaders are leading contenders ahead of the 2022 elections.
