Turkana South MP James Lomenen has ditched Deputy President William Ruto's UDA party and joined the UPYA party.
The MP was received to the UPYA party by Treasury CS Ukur Yattani on Tuesday.
The MP, who is eyeing the Turkana county governor seat, has been leaning towards Ruto's camp until Tuesday when he defected to UPYA.
He is expected to face off with energy CS John Munyes for the Turkana governor seat.

Munyes is in the Azimio la Umoja movement and he is likely to vie on an ODM party ticket.
Munyes has become the ODM leader Raila Odinga's point man in Turkana county after his political son Governor Nanok defected to the DP's camp.
Nanok was elected on the ODM ticket and he is serving his second and last term. He is the director of presidential campaigns at DP Ruto's camp.
UPYA party also backs the Azimio La Umoja Movement that is led by ODM leader Raila Odinga.
It is party formed to consolidate the support of North Eastern region counties.
