Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Chief Administrative Secretary Wavinya Ndeti has resigned.

The CAS announced her resignation while addressing the press on Friday, February 4, 2022, as she gears up to contest the Machakos County gubernatorial seat in the August 9, general elections.

"I have henceforth tendered my resignation from the office of Chief Administrative Secretary effective from today February 4, 2022," she stated.

Ndeti expressed gratitude to President Uhuru Kenyatta for the appointment as CAS, and the opportunity to serve the people of Kenya in that capacity.

"May I take this earliest opportunity to most sincerely thank H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta for affording me the precious opportunity to serve in his Government and assist him in his development agenda, particularly in achieving the Big 4 Agenda," she gratified.

The outgoing CAS also extended gratitude to Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia.

Ndeti hailed the CS for overseeing major infrastructure projects in the country and the tremendous sacrifice in bettering the lives of Kenyans.

"Further, allow me to equally thank my immediate boss, the Cabinet Secretary James Macharia, for the guidance, support, and for being a great mentor. I applaud him for his effort and commitment to develop, operate and sustain world-class Transport Infrastructure and services. May God always bless you," she said.

Ndeti has since January 2020, been serving as Chief Administrative Secretary, Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development, and Public Works.

Previously, and before assuming the position of CAS, she served for one year as the Chair of the Governing Council, Kenya Water Institute.

"Indeed, it has been a great honour and privilege to serve the great people of this Republic. Under the President's leadership, the Government has achieved unmatched milestones and I have no doubt that Kenyans will remain forever grateful as they access services to stimulate their growth and development," Ndeti stated.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I wish to reiterate my unwavering support and loyalty to the president and his government. Even as I set off to go and respond to the voices of the people of Machakos County, I assure H.E the President of my total support and availability to partner with the National Government to advance and further his development agenda," she added.

She called upon members of the public from Machakos to support her bid as she eyes the county's top seat.

"Finally, to the great people of Machakos County, I am coming home to fill in the Leadership void. I am ready and available to walk with you on the joumey of sods-economic transformation," she stated.

"My vision is this: To Empower the people of Machakos County so that they can be able to sustainably exploit their natural and creative resources to full potential. I intend to transform our County into a model of excellence in governance and economic prosperity. Although I will be running for governorship of Machakos County fully aware of the challenges on ground, I am armed with a strong resolve to put our County back on the path to prosperity.

"My clarion call is: Liu Mesani, Mbesa Muvuko - Chakula Mezani, Peso Mfukoni Together we shall make Machakos Great Again," she promised.
