The money was paid as their share of political parties funds.

ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna has revealed that the ODM party paid Musalia Mudavadi's ANC and Kalonzo Musyoka's Wiper a combined sum of over Sh100 million.

The money was paid as their share of political parties funds.

Speaking to Nation, Sifuna said their outcry over money was pegged on political blackmail.

"All this noise about money is just political blackmail to the extent that the NEC felt that our name is being abused every day. We asked them to show us how they have calculated their money. Kalonzo did so and we paid them their money. Nowadays you dont hear noise about money," Sifuna said.

On being accused of being too dismissive of other party members, Sifuna defended himself saying that it is his job as the ODM party secretary-general.

The ODM SG, however, did not clarify whether they have paid the Ford Kenya party of their dues considering they halted the payment citing the existing party wrangles.

Parties that formed an Alliance with ODM in the 2017 polls accused the ODM party of being a bully and refusing to give them their rightful share.

The Raila Odinga led party took years before finally agreeing to remit some cash to the parties.

"One of the things I want to make clear is, that is what is required of me by the ODM party constitution. I am not combative in every situation. When there is propaganda that is detrimental to the interest of the party I have to be combative," he said.
