Azimio Women Movement supporting Raila Odinga’s presidential bid was on Thursday, February 10 unveiled in Nairobi County. 

Pegged on the slogan ‘Jeshi la Baba ni akina mama, the movement is meant to mobilize women to support Odinga's presidential bid. 

Speaking during the unveiling, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu stated that they were consolidating Odinga's support across the country. 

"Consolidating maximum support for Raila Odinga's march to State House means that every vote must count. Which is why the biggest caucus of women voters has been unveiled today to mobilize all women across Kenya to be Baba’s soldiers," Ngilu said. 

The movement added that it would be defending the interests of women as it seeks votes for the overall Azimio La Umoja campaign camp.

"Sisi tutakuwa wanajeshi wa baba mtaani, vijijini na madukani tukieneza sera za muungano wa azimio la umoja, kutafuta, kutoa na kulinda kura za baba,” part of the statement by the movement read.
