President Uhuru Kenyatta held the much anticipated Sagana III meeting in Nyeri County on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.

Kenyatta did not mince words when he stood to address the meeting.

Kenyatta castigated his deputy William Ruto for peddling lies claiming he was not informed about the handshake.

Here are the highlights from his speech;

1. I told Ruto what we were discussing with Raila and explained why I had to look for him. He was the last person I talked to before the handshake and he agreed to it. When he says I didn't rope him in is not factual.

2. I appeal to you to support Raila. Help him to the top. Even my friend Ruto, he can become president someday akishika line.

3. I have no problem with the Parties you've created. I know some of you are worried about what happened during Jubilee nominations. But let's unite, we go as a team, craft a coalition with others, then we preserve our interests as a region in the next government.

4. The person I will hand power to and you all know him and you have been mentioning his name, will inherit 13 trillion economy from me yet I inherited a 5 trillion economy from Kibaki. Then someone out there says I have done nothing. I cannot risk handing over to someone who will not take care of this economy and I am saying it here without fear. I will hand over to that person, the one that you all know.

5. To those who said Jubilee is dead, watch this crowd

6. They have been coming lying that they love you. But I want when you go to decide you do it knowing the truth. It is easy to stand and say the government has not done anything, especially those people who attend rallies...but the people who know what has been done know how the government has touched their lives.

7. They have been telling me about agriculture, yet it was their docket.... How do you tell us you want to turn around the economy yet it is you who spoilt it?

8. An old man on a stool sees farther than a boy on a tree, let me stick with the old man who I can talk with.

9. Preachers who are lying to our people after receiving stolen money will go to hell.
