This comes a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta attacked religious leaders for receiving money from corrupt leaders and helping in spreading political lies.

Religious leaders have however hit back and asked the president to desist from malicious interference.

The also demanded answers from the President about who the thieves he was talking about are and why the loot has not been recovered.

"We demand to know the thieves the president talked about. Who are they? Why is the loot not being recovered from the churches where it has been donated to?" National Executive Board CCAK posed.

Uhuru took on church leaders accusing them of being beneficiaries of proceeds of corruption.

“Even church leaders should stop telling lies to our people. Let's tell the truth, you are being given 3 billion meant for Kimwarer and Arror dams meant for the children of God, then you come to mislead us,” Uhuru said.

Uhuru further told off the clergy who have been receiving donations from corrupt leaders saying they are destined to go to hell.

“Do not come here just because you have been showered with stolen money in order to lie to us. No. You can’t. You can’t come and shower us with stolen money and tell us where we shall go while holding the Bible. You are the one heading to hell, not these people,” Uhuru said.
