The One Kenya Alliance has reiterated its commitment to joining the Azimio La Umoja team.

OKA spokesperson Fredrick Okango said they are still at an early stage of structured communications with an aim of sealing a deal that will lead to the formation of a grand coalition.

"We affirm our commitment to joining the proposed GRAND Coalition AZIMIO ONE KENYA ALLIANCE that will be ready in a few weeks.

"Our position as OKA remains that of open, honest, and structured engagements that so far has been demonstrated by both parties," Okango said.

Oka noted that their ambition is to have a united country and to achieve that, they will team up with like-minded parties.

"We are committed to the unity of this country and to the ongoing structured engagements with those with whom we share common ideals."

Okango said both OKA and Azimio are yet to be registered as coalition parties adding that documentation aimed at having a deal soon is in the works.

He said a deal will likely be sealed in the coming weeks in preparation for registration with the office of the registrar of political parties.

"We are cognizant of the fact that as of today there is no Coalition registered as Azimio or OKA but strong political formations that will soon be registered pursuant to PPA. We are therefore preparing our documentation in readiness for registration with ORPP," Okango noted.'

The statement came hours after OKA called off the signing of a deal with Azimio.

The signing was scheduled for Monday but was pushed to a later date.
