Initially, Omingo Magara had denied quitting UDA.

The United Democratic Alliance party National Treasurer Omingo Magara has quit the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

According to reports, the former Mugirango quit the Deputy William Ruto-led party citing lack of democracy arguing that his political features can not be addressed by UDA.

"This has been such a heavy decision to make, as we must always allow the voice of the people we seek to lead to prevail over and above our personal ambitions," Magara said.

Magara also noted that his supporters wanted him to contest using a different political outfit.

Initially, Magara had denied quitting UDA.

Responding to viral social media reports on Sunday, Magara termed the claims as propaganda, spread by his political enemies.

“I’ve seen with dismay messages and propaganda circulating all over social media with unsubstantiated messages attributed to me

"Kindly ignore all rumours, I am a man of principle and will communicate through my handles,” he said.

This came days after former Director of Youth Affairs in the Office of Deputy President Anthony Kibagendi rejoined ODM after quitting UDA.

Kibagendi quit UDA on Saturday night following exchange on a WhatsApp group with South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro while Otundo left UDA, citing frustrations.
