Kilonzo Junior said Gachagua is a key member of the UDA party and that Mudavadi should not take his words for granted.

Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has now told the ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula to forget the deputy President slot in Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

Speaking to Citizen TV on Tuesday, the Senator said Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua is a key member of the UDA party and the two Western leaders should not take his words for granted.

"Rigathi Gachagua is a deep state of UDA and you can take his word straight to the bank," he said.

According to the Senator, Murang'a county and its key leaders are the ones demanding the deputy president slot saying they have been sidelined for years.

It is because of the Murang'a demand that he told the two Mt Kenya bigwigs that the DP seat is as good as taken

"Murang'a people have stated it is their time to be in power and they will not give up the deputy president position to Western Kenya," he said.

His remarks came in the wake of infighting in the Kenya Kwanza Alliance after Rigathi Gachagua said Western Kenya cannot bag the deputy presidency slot.

He said they told both Wetangula and Mudavadi that the DP is a preserve of Mt Kenya before they joined.
