Wangui Ng’ang’a outmuscled nominated senator Millicent Omanga and incumbent Esther Passaris who came second and third respectively.

City politician Wangui B. Ng’ang’a is leading in the race for the Nairobi County Women Representative seat in the upcoming August 9 polls.

In an opinion poll by Mizani Africa, a Pan-African research firm, Ng’ang’a outmuscled nominated senator Millicent Omanga and incumbent Esther Passaris who came second and third respectively.

Wangui, who is popularly known as Miss B was leading with 30.2 percent while Omanga came second with 27.9 percent. Passaris had 21.3 percent in the poll that was released on Friday, March 4.

Other significant names that have shown interest in the seat include Cecilia Karanja, Beatrice Kwamboka and Elizabeth Ongoro who came fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

The survey was done between February 15 and February 25, 2022.

In December last year, ODM leader Raila Odinga endorsed Miss B for a top post in Nairobi County. Raila said she deserved a top post due to her courageous nature.

“This woman Wangui Ng’ang’a is a great asset and I’m happy to be in the same camp with her for our 2022 State House race. She deserves a top seat and I support her political ambitions,” the ODM boss stated.
