Atwoli pledged to organize a meeting with the artist even as he expressed gratitude to him for honouring him through the artwork.

A 22-year-old boy who drew a portrait of Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli can now have hope of a better ending after the trade unionist pledged to meet him.

The artist identified as Moses Kiprop reportedly scored a D- in his KCSE exams but that was not a reason for him to give up on having a brighter future.

His stunning portrait of the Cotu boss went viral on social media for days and on Monday, Atwoli recognized his work.

Atwoli pledged to organize a meeting with the artist even as he expressed gratitude to him for honouring him through the artwork.

The Cotu boss said his office is working on his meeting with the young man.

"This is fine and stunning. I would wish to meet this young patriotic Kenyan and say thank you for remembering to honour me through his art. My office will get in touch," he said.

Kiprop is said to be using charcoal, graphite and bristol paper to create his portraits.

To paint Atwoli's artwork, the artist is said to have taken 110 hours to have it done to completion.

So perfect was the portrait that it gave an exact copy of Atwoli who is widely known across the country.

His artwork generated a buzz on social media with Kenyans asking the Labour unionist to consider rewarding the boy for his exemplary work.
